    Rally de España. Context 2016

    In WRC calendar Rally de España is the only race with mixed surface. During two days the participants will use tarmac roads, and during one more day – primarily gravel ones, but which also contains tarmac sections.

    The race will be opened on Thursday evening by short, 3 kilometers, tarmac superspecial. Friday is the gravel day and contains six special stages, two of them (twice pass on SS Terra Alta) have mixed surface – tarmac+gravel. During Suturday (8 SS) and Sunday (4 SS, including Power Stage) the crews return to tarmac.

    It is worth to note the Sunday opening stage – the first pass of SS Pratdip. The crews will begin fight at the stage in darkness, at 7AM local time.

    The total distance of Rally de España is 1378 kilometers, including 321 kilometers of special stages. As noted organizers of the race, two of the nineteen special stage are completely new – Saturday’s Vilaplana and Alcover, and other twelve have been changed compared to previous years.
